About | Partners

The senior equity partners of the practice are Michael Snow BSc FRICS FAAV and Brien Walker BSc FRICS FNAEA. Both are therefore senior Fellows of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, with Michael also a Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers and Brien a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents.

Brien, previously an Equity Partner in the regional practice of Cheffins and later Walker Wakelin (which he founded) lives and works in the market town of Saffron Walden and has practiced for over thirty five years. Passionate about building history, Brien is from a very old family construction background (est. 1876) and has been undertaking surveys his entire career and even once (whilst a student) owned a reclaimed building material business in Cambridge - as such it is perhaps not surprising that he is deemed to be an expert on 'traditional English building materials and their application'. His practical approach together with specific training, experience and qualifications, provide him with a unique ability to appraise property and as such is one of the most respected surveyors in the region. His other specialities are COMMERCIAL AGENCY and development land.

Michael has spent his entire professional career in the East Anglian area having become a partner in a local property firm in 1983. He became director of the eastern region of the Hamptons Plc Survey and Professional Division in 1987. He has a particular interest in vernacular buildings of the Eastern counties. He has also specialised in negotiating compensation claims due to aircraft noise (which won national recognition), Expert Witness appearances on surveying and valuation issues as well as undertaking planning, rating, valuation and agricultural land agency work. His survey work involving period and vernacular buildings often results in recommendations taking him as far afield as Norfolk, Kent and Greater London.

PLEASE DO NOT EMPLOY US................unless you want a surveyor who considers the traditional values of integrity, honesty and endeavour important.
