BUILDING SURVEYS
Once known as 'structural surveys', these are the most comprehensive appraisal and we recommend them for all LISTED, PERIOD and UNUSUAL properties - which we specialise in. This is a comprehensive appraisal of construction and condition, breaking the property down into its component parts. We can tailor these reports to the precise requirements of clients as they have no specific format. Indeed, we invite you to tell us if there are parts of the property that cause you concern and we will spend additional time on those sections. You don't have to wait for the written report either - the surveyor (who will be a partner of the Company) will be pleased to discuss it with you as soon as the site investigations are complete. We also include a post inspection conversation with the surveyor, or perhaps even an on-site meeting by arrangement . Oh, and we will be pleased to e mail a copy to your legal advisor as well - indeed we recommend it.

HOME BUYER REPORTS
Designed specifically with the requirements of modern standard residential property in mind, it does not take anywhere near as long to prepare and therefore does not cost as much. However, we consider that any property constructed pre-1960 really requires a full building survey, given before that modern controls such as building regulation, NHBC and planning, were still in their relative infancy. Two Twentieth Century World Wars had also done their best to bankrupt the Country, exausted our raw materials and killed off many of our craftsmen - this sometimes resulted in some pretty indifferent experimental construction especially in the 1940 -60 period (Lindane woodworm treatment, asbestos etc). Therefore think carefully before selecting your survey type. However, this inspection format is still relatively detailed, though far more concise, being in a standardised format......and yes we will undertake one on an old property so long as we consider we consider we have given you BEST ADVICE.

So, you want a surveyors advice, but circumstances don't justify a detailed survey?
Well, we can conduct a walk round inspection to give you a general overview, which is followed up by a letter highlighting the main points. Remember however that the limitations of the inspection will be clearly detailed. We can also meet with you on site to discuss the preoperty, but only after the inspection is complete - if we are talking to you, then we are not giving the work the concentration required.
